Mimosa is the first community cat on Ireland Street registered as part of the community cat program. He can be seen strutting around like he owns the place. He’s an orange and white tabby and more confidence than a cat his size has any right to have.
He was live-trapped in June 2026, taken to Burlington Animal Services for a neuter and vaccines, ear-tipped, and returned to the colony the same week. He seemed barely inconvenienced other than being upset he couldn’t immediatly go back outside.
These days Mimosa can usually be found in a front yard on Grace or Harris Street for feeding time and sometimes a few minutes before, just to make sure no one forgets. He’s very friendly with humans, but can be nervous or territorial around other cats/dogs at first. He is happy to come inside to escape the heat/cold, eat, or take a nap but it usually isn’t long before he is ready to go back outside.
